Terms of use
What this is, what it is not, and how far it goes. In short: we check published rules, we do not guarantee entry.
Version of 2026-08-15.
What this is
Cleared Go is a free tool that reads the passport validity rules published by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and works out whether a passport meets them for a given set of dates. Nothing more, and nothing less.
What it is NOT
- It is not an official service of any government, embassy or consulate, and is not affiliated with one. We use their public data; that is all.
- It is not legal or immigration advice. We are not lawyers or agents.
- We do not process anything: no passports, no visas, no authorisations.
- It does not guarantee entry to any country. The final decision always rests with the destination's border authority, which may ask for things no database holds.
Where the data comes from, and who it is written for
The rules come from UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office travel advice, published under the Open Government Licence v3.0, which permits reuse with attribution.
That advice is written for British passport holders. For many destinations the validity requirement is the same whatever your nationality, but we have not verified this country by country and we do not claim that it is. If your passport is not British, treat the result as orientation and confirm it with the destination's consulate before buying a ticket.
We always show the source's original text alongside each answer, precisely so you can judge for yourself where the conclusion comes from.
Accuracy and limits
We take care that the calculation is correct and the data current, but the service is provided "as is", without warranties. Entry rules change without notice and a source may publish late or with errors.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we accept no liability for loss or damage — fares, accommodation, denied boarding or missed opportunities — arising from use of this site or reliance on it. The final check before you travel is yours.
Third-party links
If at some point we recommend a third-party product or service, the link may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you, and it will be marked as such where it appears. We will never change a verdict or invent a requirement in order to sell something.
Since 15 August 2026 the site uses Travelpayouts, an external service that turns links to travel brands into affiliate links. You can refuse it with one click; how it works is set out in the privacy policy.
We are not responsible for the content or practices of external sites we link to, including official sources.
Acceptable use
You may use the site freely to check and plan your travel, and share its links. You may not attempt to bring the service down, scrape it wholesale by automated means, or present it as your own or as an official source.
Government data belongs to its sources and carries their licence. The text, design and code of this site are ours.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the version date above says when they last changed. This service is operated from Argentina and is governed by Argentine law, without prejudice to any consumer rights you hold in your country of residence.
